x5pea 0 Posted October 4, 2010 Well i bought this GTI in 2008 used it for a bit then decided to Pimp its ass in time for UK show Ultimate Dubs 2009. It went down pretty well in truth with 5 Magazine features and 3 Magazine covers but after the summer 09 i decided to sell it fund a mk6 gti, so of it went to Ireland. The cars new owner got in contact and offered me it back at a crazy price so it would have been rude to turn him down (sadly mrs x5pea didnt see it that way) and off i went to Ireland with a bag of money Heres a quick history in pictures...... Enjoy ! Std Car Rob cutting up a front arch to make up the rears Marked up Tack'd in place Welded up and beaten into shape Rear arches Ground back Metal work finished and ready for skimming Wheels on and arches cut ready to be pulled Wings extended to compensate for the movement of the bumper, front arches measured mm perfect and tack'd into place...rears skimmed Tack welded strips removed and arch plates shaped and welded into place Rob grinding back the welds on the front arches Fronts ground back ready for skim with filler Front and rear arches skimmed Primed and getting ready for paint The famous Pot Rob in the booth doing his thing And the finished article Now that its back with me I've decided to raise the bar on it and give it a bit of a make over. The green is staying, the rims getting a full polish and a full interior over haul, original seats have gone and some Carrera GT seats are going in after a retrim, with a custom cage, painted floor and plenty of carbon fibre. Hopefully it will all be done in the next 2 weeks in time for uk show DC10, progress so far.....

x5pea 0 Posted October 4, 2010 and some shiney shiney I hunted the web for a decent engine cover and eventually gave up and modified the STD engine cover to accept the new intake, I cut out the std air box section and i spent a bit of time plastic welding a section on the side to finish it off rather than leaving it exposed like most others ive seen. Not sure if i like the engine cover in green to be honest but it will have to do for now, also colour coded the slam panel and expansion bottle (as my other one isnt finished) As part of my E38 preparations I decided to take the wheels off and give them a good polish and it would have been rude not to stick the Space Saver on for a wee picture
